Today there are over 450 English Bible versions because various methods were / are used to translated. Most of the versions were translated using one of the following methods.
- Word-for-Word (Format Equivalence): Aims for literal accuracy by prioritising the original grammar and vocabulary.
- Thought-for-Thought (Dynamic Equivalence): Focuses on conveying the original author’s intent and meaning in natural, contemporary English.

Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance
Between 1822–1894, James Strong, American Methodist theologian and professor compiled the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, published in 1890. He led a team to index every word in the King James Version (KJV) and developed a numbering system for Hebrew and Greek roots, known as “Strong’s Numbers“.Thanks those who developed the Blue Letter Bible (BLB) KJV linked to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance.
This tool is used to study the following bible verse.
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eat thereof thou shalt surely die, Gen 2:17, KJV.
This verse was translated from self-Existent or Eternal (yᵊhōvâ) the supreme God (‘ĕlōhîm) instruction recorded in Hebrew as typed below.
ʿēṣ daʿaṯ ṭôḇ raʿ lō’ āḵal min kî yôm ‘āḵal mûṯ mûṯ
Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance translates the above verse as
[ʿēṣ] The tree [daʿaṯ] knowledge [ṭôḇ] good:—beautiful, best, better, cheerful, at ease [raʿ] evil (natural or moral):—adversity, affliction, bad, calamity, displease, displeasure, distress [lō’] not [‘āḵal] to eat:—consume [min] from, [kî] certainly [yôm] time, day [‘āḵal] eat:—consume [min] from [mûṯ] die [mûṯ] die.
The Eternal, the supreme God instructs the knowledge (daʿaṯ) good (ṭôḇ) evil (raʿ) eat:—consume (‘āḵal) from the time (yôm) die (mûṯ) die:—(put to, worthy of) death (mûṯ)
The Eternal, the supreme God says those choose to live good (ṭôḇ) evil (raʿ) will die twice.
This is only possible, the person who dies is brought back to life then put death.
The Eternal, the supreme God judgement on all who live Adam’s way will be 1stmûṯ 2ndmûṯ
Rom 5:14
However the 1st (thanatos) death not for living Adam’s way.
The 2nd (thanatos) death ?
In the 66th book of the Bible, Disclosure (Revelation) Jesus Christ, the supreme Authority Jesus discloses the 2nd death.
[makarios] supremely blest and [hagios] sacred one [echō] to hold a share in the [anastasis resurrection from death:—raised to life again the foremost upon [toutōn] of these persons the death the second not [echō] to hold power …, Rev 20:6, Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance.
Those aren’t supremely bless (makarios) and Sacred (hagios) will die the 2nddeath.
It indeed [opsōnion] soldier stipend or pay it [hamartia] offence [thanatos] death …, Rom 6:23, Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance.
